New survey says technology is the most trusted industry
The 2007 Edelman Trust Barometer, a survey of public opinions about business, found that technology is the most trusted industry in all of the countries covered by the study. The survey is conducted each year by the Edelman PR firm.
Another significant finding of the survey was that respondents increasingly trust "those who think like me and share my interests." Technology marketers have long known that positive word-of-mouth reviews by early adopters and opinion leaders are critical for building sales momentum, especially for completely new product concepts. It's interesting to see how this personal sharing is now taking hold in other industries, especially those targeted to consumer marketing.
